The for U.S. Military Families program is funded by the Department of Defense (DoD) MWR Library Program, the DoD Navy General Library Program, the DoD Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program, DoD Voluntary Education and Coast Guard Mutual Assistance (CGMA). Those who fund the program determine eligibility for its use.

Currently, grades K-12 students in all U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard (active duty plus part-time National Guard and Reserve) and deployed DoD Civilian families are eligible to use the program at no cost.

Service members on active duty or serving part-time in the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and Coast Guard (including National Guard and Reserve) are also eligible to use the program at no cost. Additionally, some spouses and other adult dependents—including those in part-time National Guard and Reserve and active duty Coast Guard families—are eligible to use the program at no cost.
